Join a collaborative figure modeling project, building life-scale clay figures outdoors at Edgewood Farm for an extended public installation. Learn how to model life-scale clay figures, applying lessons in human anatomy, proportion, form making and clay modeling. We will begin placing the armatures in the landscape and model them on site in clay. 

No experience is necessary - only interest and enthusiasm!

This class will meet at Edgewood Farm, 3 Edgewood Way. All tools and materials will be supplied, please be prepared for working outside (hats, sunscreen, bug repellent etc.)

Laura Frazure is an artist and educator who lives and works in Philadelphia. She is an Assistant Professor at the University of the Arts where she is the Coordinator of Sculpture/Crafts within the School of Art. Her main focus throughout her career has been human anatomy and sculptural figuration. Frazure is a nationally and internationally exhibiting artist with exhibitions in group and solo shows in Beijing, Shanghai, New York City, Philadelphia PA, Williamsburg VA, Truro MA, and Pecs Hungary. Venues include: Sotheby’s, National Art Museum of China, World Financial Center, Shanghai, Provincetown Museum, Philadelphia Fringe Festival and the Philadelphia Museum of Art (Film Series). Frazure has been recognized for her work with two Pew Fellowship Finalist Awards, three Venture Fund Grants and the Robert Engman Award from the University of Pennsylvania. Her work is in notable collections including Nader Tavakoli, New York, and Witold Rybczynski, Philadelphia.
