If you have ever wanted to learn about Bonsai, this is your time! We will be discussing the history, science, and art of this ancient creative practice. In taking this class, you will learn how to develop, care for, and maintain a bonsai tree.

Hands on is the only way to learn this art form, so be ready to get some dirt under your fingernails! We will be working with nursery stock juniper; pruning, potting, and styling them into a starter-bonsai that you will take home with you.

You will come away from class with a strong foundational knowledge of this art form, an understanding of and appreciation for the relationship between caretaker and tree, and the skills to care for your very own Bonsai.

All materials are included, if you have a favorite pair of gardening gloves please bring them along. This class takes place at the Main Campus, 10 Meetinghouse Road, Truro.

Kai Potter is a writer, surfer, artist, and garden designer who has been practicing bonsai for over twenty years. He has a collection of trees he’s grown, gathered from the wild, and inherited, all kept in a Japanese-style garden he built in Wellfleet.
