"Religious/social systems have been impressed upon me with options of rewards and consequences long before I even knew they existed. I seek to reshape racial/gay narratives through a transparency that goes beyond the curated “ethical reward”. Does celebration of regurgitated visual traumas help us better understand ourselves or censor us from actual healing and new dialogues? Why are these conversations about exhausted traumatic narratives not at the forefront? My work is about a visual vocabulary that expands on these questions and observing how we become portraits of bodies seeking identity within destruction of old ideals and new declarations.

"I am a mixed media artist with a focus in fiber techniques. Often using iconic imagery, my work is frequently a visceral response to the moral and political landscape of the day. By visually addressing the frayed and unraveled places around me, my work seeks to promote thoughtful dialogue about critical questions as we navigate the difficult times we live in."

"I am fascinated by reimagining the buildings that I present in my paintings as an opportunity for the viewer to re-understand the landscape. We are all very aware of our landscape and our commitment to being a steward to this landscape we rest into. Truro helped me identify a resting and I am grateful. A new opportunity to resurrect a new meaning from buildings that are somewhat decayed. I am also fascinated with forgotten farmhouse interiors- older heirloom objects placed in contrast with new objects. This forms a new dialogue for both objects when placed together in interior architecture or interior painting."
