This is a fiber arts workshop providing specific instruction on traditional techniques of embroidery and soft sculpture work. Students will learn several types of embroidery stitches and create 3-D felt creatures. In addition, students are welcome to bring any fabrics they would like to add embroidery design onto. 
All materials will be provided, class will meet at the Main Campus, 10 Meetinghouse Road, Truro.

Heidi Filmer spent four years teaching art at Cuttyhunk Elementary School on Cuttyhunk Island and 10 years teaching STEAM base art and collaborative art projects through Mass Audubon and multiple school districts. Heidi is currently teaching at Nauset Middle School. She focuses her personal artwork primarily on glass lampworking (torch fired glass) and photography. She studied lampworking at Pratt Fine Arts under the tutelage of some of Dale Chihuly’s artists. Heidi was Vice President on the Board of Directors for the Cape and Islands Art Educators Association for 3 years and has a Masters Degree in Special Education. She is currently studying Art Therapy.
