The goal of this workshop is to help individuals identify their unique voice in clay while improving their wheel throwing, hand building, and surface decorating techniques. This will be accomplished through demonstrations with follow up exercises as well as one-on-one and group critiques. Demonstrations will focus on simple functional forms, addressing proportion, visual and physical weight, cross sections, and the connection between form and surface. Techniques for throwing and trimming, handles, coil-building and surface treatments will be explored.  Feel free to bring whatever tools you may like to use, but nothing special is required.
