In this children’s workshop, students will learn puppetry and pop-up books. Students will explore making a variety of puppets like sock, stick, and marionette styles. They will enjoy a playful environment of storytelling and song while learning the craft of puppetry.
Robert (Bobaloo) Basey is a Staten Island native who attended New York City public schools. Bobaloo was awarded a scholarship to Adelphi Academy in the Bay Ridge section of Brooklyn and later studied art history at Syracuse University, studying one year abroad in Italy. Mr. Basey is a two-time recipient of the Staten Island Council of the Arts Grant and is a Staten Island Historical Society Honoree. Bobaloo is a teaching artist with New York City public schools and a featured storyteller for the New York Public Libraries.
