The enduring techniques of coil-building offer endless possibilities for building vessels of every shape and size. In this 5-day workshop we will explore the particular joys and challenges of building big. Come prepared to push your perceived limits in terms of scale and form. From the planning stages to considering coil size, to the technical requirements of scaling up, we will work together to create vessels that reflect our values as makers.
Jenny Peace teaches workshops and classes at both Mudflat Studios and the Harvard Ceramics Program. Jenny has been working out of the Harvard Studio for many years and was a resident artist before relocating to Westport, MA this year to begin building her own studio. She completed a graduate certificate in Ceramics through UMass Dartmouth where she developed a series of large-scale, soda fired, coil-build vessels.
