Find inspiration by exploring a limitless creative fiber world. This workshop is for artists who are interested in creating soft sewn sculptures. Learn and create at your own pace: experienced and unexperienced sewers are welcome. This course welcomes teenagers and adults of all ages. Participants will be invited to use a variety of materials (threads, fabrics, papers…) and experiment various sewing, crocheting techniques as well as pattern making basics.
We will explore/discuss the work of Contemporary Fiber Artists such as Sheila Hicks, Nick Cave, Louise Bourgeois, Charles Ledray, Olga De Amaral, Yinka Shonibare and Kate Hamilton.

Mixed media artist Nathalie Ferrier was born in France and has lived year-round in Truro, Cape Cod since 1999. She teaches fiber arts at the Cape Cod Community College.
She first studied fashion design at the Ecole de Haute Couture in Paris. In 2007, Ferrier received an MFA from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design. Her work as been exposed in curated exhibitions in Boston, New York, at the Provincetown Art Association and Museum, the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, the GAA Gallery in Provincetown, Castle Hill Truro Center for the Arts and Art Fairs in Miami and Australia. Ferrier’s most recent solo exhibition was at farm projects, Wellfleet MA in September 2023. Ferrier is also the Higgins Art Gallery Director and Curator at the Cape Cod Community College.
