Do you love the way brilliant glass magically transforms a space? Do you have glass shards or a wonderful depression glass bowl that you are no longer using it for it’s original intent but want to still have part of it in your life? This is the class for you! Working with glass that had a former life, we will discover methods in design and techniques such as cutting glass, grinding, copper foiling and soldering. Through demonstrations, lectures, and your hands-on projects, you will complete a beautiful glass panel (approximately 8x8).You will begin or continue a good foundation for using such techniques beyond the class

Please consider bring small personal treasures that may be included in your project, i.e., jewelry parts, pieces of china, and shells, just to name a few. This can be a great way to preserve memories of those special belongings.

Donna Mahan, Mixed Media Artist and Sculptor. “I view my surroundings as a vehicle to personalize my artistic expression as a creative, intuitive artist. Since childhood, I have had a fascination with the textures and colors of shells I collected on the beaches of Cape Cod. At an early age, creating with textiles contributed to my heightened awareness of color and patterns that fuel my creative energy to this day. These influences lead me to transform found objects into visual designs that capture history.

Striking colors and textures swirling around in my studio guide me down unknown paths. Multiple elements create a convergence rich in texture, color and form which constantly invigorates my essence.
