On The Grant: Oyster Harvesting

Local shell fisherman Jim O’Connell will take students on a unique tour of his shell fishing grant on the flats of Wellfleet to discover the art of Cape Cod clamming and oystering. Jim will present on all things shellfish, including history, anatomy, and the shellfish trade on Cape Cod. Students will walk away with a newfound appreciation for these small creatures and for how they arrive on the dinner plate. 

Be prepared for the outdoor weather on the grant, rain or shine! Think hats, sunscreen, and shoes/boots that can get wet!
