Instructor: Dahlia Popovits
Monday - Friday
July 21 - 25
9am - 12pm
5 sessions

This workshop is designed to give students a thorough and intensive grounding in hand weaving on a rigid heddle loom, with specific focus on color and weave technique, tapestry, and a variety of open weave structures.

This 5 day session will cover foundational weaving skills such as direct warping and loom set up. Learning these skills will lead to a finished wall hanging incorporating a variety of techniques.

We will strive toward making good decisions which will lead to success and encourage the development of your own distinctive voice as a weaver. The combination of technique and skill leads to the reward of creative cloth.

All materials will be provided, and no experience is necessary.

Dahlia Popovits has been designing and weaving extraordinary clothing and accessories for nearly 50 years. Her award winning textiles can be seen at Dahlia Gallery, in Boston’s Sowa Art and Design District.
