JOB DESCRIPTION

Facilities Manager

Responsible for performing general maintenance on the Truro Center for the Arts’ campuses, including Edgewood and Castle Hill, applying general handyman skills, performing janitorial duties and other duties as required with the goal to maintain the buildings and grounds in top condition to ensure full and productive use of all facilities. Reports to the Managing Director.

Duties Include:

• Daily, works with Managing Director off a ‘Buildings & Grounds To-Do’ list that prioritizes short, medium and long term projects while also being able to pivot when the day-to-day emergencies arise.

• Responsible for the buildings & grounds at both locations - cleaning, painting, & making necessary repairs; maintaining equipment and supervising its use; painting floors, walls & all areas as needed; general grounds keeping.

• Responsible all general janitorial duties including keeping grounds and all public spaces in order, i.e. bathrooms, landscaping, parking area, etc.; sweeping, vacuuming, emptying trash for offices, bathrooms, common areas.

• Responsible for fixing and/or building items, as needed. Special projects and events, as requested. Dealing with contractors, as requested.

• Identifies safety issues and is prepared to deal with them.

• Works with Managing Director to maintain a list of necessary preventative maintenance for all buildings, grounds and systems. Perform or provide preventive maintenance and repair to all such buildings, grounds and systems.

• Deals professionally and courteously with staff, students, instructors, tenants, board, etc.

• REQUIREMENT: Maintains own vehicle, current driver’s license and local housing
