The artist residency program of the Truro Center for the Arts at Edgewood Farm is a program that began in 2017, developed to encourage the development of creative, intellectual and personal growth of emerging and established artists. It works in collaboration with our distinguished educational facility at the Castle Hill Campus, whose mission is to foster the arts for the local and regional community.

The Truro Center for the Arts at Edgewood Farm focuses on the development of “the artistic process” by providing artists a beautiful place to work for an extended period of time. The residency program at Edgewood Farm strives to bring a broader artistic cultural conversation to the local community and economy of the Outer Cape.

The residency program has debuted a partnership between Morgan State University, a Historically Black College and University (“HBCU”) founded in 1867 in Baltimore, MD and the Truro Center for the Arts at Castle Hill (“Castle Hill’). Made possible by the vision and generosity of Nancy and Al Osborne in celebration of the 50th anniversary of Castle Hill, the program brings young Black artists from Morgan State to Truro for residencies on Castle Hill’s historic Edgewood Farm campus. This year, we are happy to expand our program to Howard University, in Washington, D.C.
