Through a series of projects to get you started, we will create our own three-dimensional sculptural narratives in a confined space with controlled lighting, depth and viewpoint. This will be an exciting physical and mental challenge, making a sculpture in an enclosed space can force the elements you choose to interact. which leads to visual storytelling and abstract intrigue. This is a multimedia class, and we will confront issues of joinery and craft, with access to hand tools in the woodshop. We will look at work by Joseph Cornell, Louise Nevelson and Duchamp for historical inspiration and then brainstorm.
No previous experience required.
