Our stories have a way of sticking with us. They follow us around for a lifetime, asking us to repeat the same old fiction about ourselves and our lives. Through story-mining exercises you will uncover some of the stories that could be limiting your beliefs and creating blocks. Whether you participate out of pure curiosity or with the intention of representing yourself more accurately in your work and life, there is usually a story or two that could use a re-write

Vanessa Vartabedian is co-creator and producer of the Mosquito Story Slam and podcast, now in its 7th season. Having presented hundreds of stories to thousands of audience members, she knows the intimate truth of what makes a compelling story and how to tell it. She currently coaches storytellers, actors and directors, both privately and at Lesley University and Emerson College where she teaches Filmmaking and Television Production. Vanessa has shared her own stories regularly at The Moth in Los Angeles and Boston, as well as on The Mosquito stage. She has a degree in Acting from NYU and is a character-driven documentary and narrative filmmaker.
