July 29 - Aug 1
Monday, 9am - 12pm
Tues - Thurs, 8am - 12pm
4 sessions
Come spend mid-summer sketching and painting the fleeting light of Truro, Wellfleet and Provincetown. Simple meditative hikes will take us to tidal marshes, ocean beaches and the Provinceland dunes to visually explore the landscape. Initial emphasis will be put on drawing the inner structure of the landscape, its compositional dynamics as well as the clean, successful use of value and color in portable water-based media. Accumulating quick sketches and visual data will allow us to react to the ever changing colors and atmosphere of the Outer Cape. Journaling and simple meditation exercises on location will open us to the possibilities of deepening our ability to see and connect to nature. All levels of experience are welcome.
